With a reverence for mother-earth and all of it’s inhabitants, a commitment to a cruelty-free life has been a natural decision.
For me, a vegan life is not a trend, it’s a spiritual path and a way of being.
I cannot imagine being any other way. Or making any other decision.
Nothing is more painful to see than an animal suffering at the hands of human ignorance or greed.
I want to ask people, who do you think you are to feel you have the right to inflict death directly or indirectly upon another independently breathing creature?
And for a hamburger, a coat, or a cleaning product? Really??
It makes absolutely no sense to me. And quite frankly this level of mindless entitlement is an unacceptable tragedy, especially when alternative options are readily available.
In my opinion, differentiating between species is an excuse.
Let’s get real, at this point (in our country) we aren’t hunting and gathering anymore.
We have created methodical murder manufacturing systems for meat and fur that are on par with the behavior of sociopaths and first-degree murderers. This reality must be brought into the public light and it must be stopped.
Currently Jessica lives and works in Brooklyn NYC with her rescue bull terrier Jonah (Animal Haven Shelter), with whom she speaks sign language. Also a practicing fine artist, she maintains an oil-painting studio in Dumbo and regularly attends The Art Students League of NYC. She holds a BFA in Communication Design from Parsons and a BA in Art History from Eugene Lang/The New School for Social Research.
